The “uses” count on Settings → Email Templates only went up when a template was
sent through the AI assistant. Templates sent from the regular composer, the
inbox, or by automations never moved the counter, so an actively-used template
could still report zero — making it hard to judge which templates actually
perform.
What’s Fixed
- Person and Company composers now count a use when a templated email is
actually sent (including saved drafts you send later and scheduled sends). - Inbox replies (shared team inboxes and personal “My Inbox”) count a use
when you send a reply built from a template. - Automations that send an email to a contract role now count a use when the
email goes out. - Newsletter campaigns built from a template count one use per campaign send
(when the campaign actually dispatches to recipients) — not one per recipient. - The count increments only on a successful send — selecting a template and
then cancelling no longer inflates the number, consistent with how the count
is meant to reflect real usage.
Migration
No action required. Counts begin reflecting all send paths going forward;
historical sends before this change are not backfilled.
